Childbirth Education
How we birth our babies really matters. The choices we make can have lasting impact on our children and ourselves.
As a diploma-trained childbirth educator, I can help you to prepare for birth and
parenthood in your own home, building around your interests
and needs. My aim is to equip you with the information, confidence and
insight necessary to make well-considered choices and have a birth
experience that will be a source of strength to you in future.
Topics we might consider together include:
- the
physiology of birth
- things that help and hinder normal birth
- the
role of birth partners
- place of birth
- positions, movements and
props
- using your own resources to cope with labor
- comfort in labor
- the third stage of labor
I
can bring some of my many teaching aids, such as a model pelvis, birth
ball and physiology charts, and I have an extensive library from which
you may borrow.
